Samuel Whalen is an accomplished attorney and graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he earned a bachelor of arts in history. Samuel Whalen’s success at Slippery Rock University laid the groundwork for a distinguished legal education at Duquesne University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and earned multiple CALI Awards.

Following law school, Mr. Whalen served as an assistant public defender with the Erie County Public Defender's Office, representing clients from preliminary hearings through trial and resolution. He successfully negotiated favorable outcomes, secured charge dismissals, prevailed on pre-trial motions, and advocated for clients in both jury and non-jury trials.

Throughout law school, Mr. Whalen gained practical legal experience through internships and clinical programs, including the Duquesne University Veterans Clinic, the Unemployment Compensation Clinic, the Butler County Office of the Public Defender, Lindsay Law Firm, and the Paper Prisons Initiative at Santa Clara University. These diverse experiences strengthened his legal research, writing, litigation, and client advocacy skills.
